Question 6: How Much Remote Range Do You Need?
The wireless remote is the feature first-timers underestimate the most. A standard remote reaches about 160 ft — fine if the horn is mounted on the truck you're standing next to. But if you're scaring geese off a back pond, signaling across a farm, or firing a horn mounted on a rig parked across a fairground lot, you want the long-range remote, which is rated up to 2000 ft.

Using one on a public road as your vehicle horn is where state vehicle codes get picky — most states regulate horn loudness or "unreasonable" sound, and rules vary a lot. Off-road, on private property, on the water and for emergency signaling you're generally in the clear. Do I need hearing protection?
Yes, and I'm not being dramatic. OSHA's occupational noise standard (29 CFR 1910.95) caps even short exposures at 115 dB(A) and treats 140 dB peak as the ceiling for impulse noise — and the Extreme tier is rated above that at the horn. Point the trumpets away from everyone, and wear earplugs or muffs when you're testing at arm's length. Loud is a feature — install it right.
Does the horn come with a battery?
